After two weeks, the Latvian team returned home following a round-of-16 match against Poland, the world's top-ranked team. Along the way, the squad experienced both victories and disappointments.

Perhaps the most important outcome of the tournament is a much clearer understanding of what this young Latvian volleyball team is capable of. Twenty-four national teams took part in the championship, and Latvia finished the tournament in 15th place.
