Latvia's men's volleyball team begins Euro Championship preparations with test matches
Latvia's men's national volleyball team under coach Uģis Krastiņš has started a series of test matches ahead of the European Championship, with captain Kristaps Šmits saying the squad's current level is not yet the best.

Captain's assessment
Team captain Kristaps Šmits, commenting on the preparation process so far, said the test matches have allowed the squad to get a real sense of its current level of play. According to the captain, that level is not currently among the best.
