Cyclones to bring rain, wind and cooler weather to Latvia in coming days
Latvia will see rain-bearing cyclone systems pass through over the weekend and into next week, bringing thunderstorms, gusty winds and gradually cooling temperatures.

Latvia's weather service forecasts variable cloud cover on Thursday, with intermittent rain and localized thunderstorms in some areas. Winds will be light to moderate from the west and southwest, with coastal gusts reaching 15 meters per second around midday. Daytime temperatures will climb to between +16 and +20 degrees Celsius.
Overnight into Thursday, winds will blow from the south and southwest before shifting to west and northwest by morning. Coastal areas may see moderately strong winds with gusts of 15-18 meters per second.
Rain continues through the weekend
Both Friday and Saturday are expected to bring widespread rain, locally heavy and prolonged, along with isolated thunderstorms. On Friday, winds will remain light to moderate from the west and southwest, gusting to 15-17 meters per second. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +12 to +17 degrees, while daytime highs will range from +14 to +18 degrees.
Cyclone activity to persist into next week
Cyclone activity will continue to shape the region's weather at the end of the first week of September and into the start of the following week. Precipitation zones will keep moving across Latvian territory, and winds will occasionally turn gusty. Daytime temperatures will reach +14 to +19 degrees, while nighttime lows will mostly range between +9 and +14 degrees.
