Lavrov: Russia Will Not Accept Temporary Solutions or Ultimatums on Ukraine
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that Moscow is ready to resume peace talks with Ukraine at any moment, but insists on the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbas as a precondition. He also stressed that Russia will not agree to temporary solutions or ultimatums.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, speaking at the Primakov Readings forum on Friday, confirmed that Moscow is ready to resume peace talks with Ukraine at any time. This statement came after US President Donald Trump urged Ukraine to act more decisively against Russia.
Lavrov named the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from Donbas as the main condition for starting negotiations. Kyiv categorically rejects this demand, as reported by "Aktuaalne Kaamera."
Lavrov recalled that at a summit in Anchorage last August, the leaders of Russia and the US reached several understandings on political ways out of the Ukrainian crisis. He emphasized that Russia remains committed to these understandings, noting that the proposals largely originated from the American side, and President Putin merely agreed to them.
The Russian minister said the ball is not on Russia's side of the field now, although attempts are made to pass it from an offside position. He stressed that for Russia, the issue is a matter of principle, and it will not exchange it for any temporary or interim solutions, let alone accept ultimatums dictated by anyone.
