Lebedev takes 12th at Polish Grand Prix before Riga round
Andžejs Ļebedevs finished 12th in the Speedway Grand Prix round in Łódź with six points. Robert Lambert won the event, and the series moves to Riga next week.
Latvian speedway rider Andžejs Ļebedevs finished 12th in the Speedway Grand Prix round held in Łódź, Poland, collecting six points across his five heats. That total was not enough to advance to the semifinals, as riders with seven points progressed.
Lebedev opened with two runner-up finishes, first behind Australian Max Frick and then behind Dane Michael Jensen. In his third heat he moved into the lead, but his bike broke down on lap four, leaving him without points. He added one point in each of his final two rides.
The final field featured home rider Patryk Dudek, who topped qualifying with 13 points, and Australian Brady Kurtz with 12. They were joined by semifinal winners Jensen and Britain's Robert Lambert. Lambert went on to win the final, with Dudek second and Kurtz third.
Because of heavy rain, practice and qualifying were cancelled in Łódź, and this was the first time the city hosted a Grand Prix. The 2026 season consists of ten rounds; the eighth takes place in Riga next week, and the final round is scheduled for Poland at the end of September. Last season, Lebedev ranked sixth overall, while Poland's Bartosz Zmarzlik clinched his sixth career title.
