Lebedevs finishes season 15th in Torun as Lambert claims world speedway title
Latvian speedway rider Andzejs Lebedevs finished 15th in the final round of the Speedway Grand Prix season in Torun, while Britain's Robert Lambert secured the overall world championship title.
The final, tenth round of the Speedway Grand Prix world championship season took place in Torun on Saturday, with Latvia's Andzejs Lebedevs finishing 15th on the day.
Lebedevs competed in five heats during the round, finishing third in three of them but failing to overtake his rivals in the other two.
Four riders reach the final
All three riders still in contention for the season title advanced to the round's grand final: British rider Robert Lambert, Poland's Bartosz Zmarzlik and Australia's Brady Kurtz. They were joined by another Polish rider, Patryk Dudek.
Lambert quickly took the lead in the final and held it to the finish, securing the world championship. Kurtz finished second, followed by Zmarzlik in third and Dudek in fourth.
This marks Lambert's first world title - his previous best result was runner-up in the overall standings, achieved in 2024.
Final standings
In the season's overall standings, Lambert finished with 162 points, two ahead of Zmarzlik, while Kurtz collected 157 points. Lebedevs ended the season tenth overall with 67 points.
Last season Lebedevs finished sixth in the overall standings, while the title that year went to Zmarzlik for the sixth time in his career.
Lebedevs has already secured a place in next season's Grand Prix main roster. Riga is also set to host one of the rounds again in the 2027 season.
