Alternative choir concert in Lejasciems features Maestro Pauls' songs
On Saturday evening, two choir concerts featuring Raimonds Pauls' songs took place simultaneously. The alternative concert in Lejasciems saw such high demand that some choirs were turned away due to limited space.

On the evening of July 11, two large choir concerts were held simultaneously, both dedicated to the songs of Raimonds Pauls. The main event, titled "To My Motherland," took place at the Mežaparks Great Stage with thousands of singers. Meanwhile, almost 30 choirs chose to perform at the Lejasciems stage as an alternative, citing principled disagreements.
Interest in the Lejasciems concert was unexpectedly high. Organizers noted that the stage could not accommodate all interested participants, forcing them to refuse some choirs. The event demonstrates the enduring appeal of Pauls' music and the strong desire among choirs to perform, even in parallel to a major concert.
