Lewandowski agrees to join Chicago MLS club after visit
Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, whose contract with Barcelona expires tomorrow, has agreed to join an MLS club in Chicago after a visit two weeks ago.

Robert Lewandowski, one of the most prolific strikers of his generation, has decided to continue his career in the United States. Two weeks ago, the nearly 38-year-old visited the city of Chicago, including the local MLS club, and has now agreed to join the team. This comes as his contract with Spanish giants Barcelona is set to expire tomorrow.
This spring, Lewandowski helped Barcelona win the La Liga title for the third time in his career. Earlier, he had won the Bundesliga ten times with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. In 2020, he was instrumental in Bayern's UEFA Champions League triumph. FIFA and UEFA have both named him the best player of the year in the past.
Lewandowski's goal-scoring record is remarkable: 344 goals in 375 appearances for Bayern Munich, and 120 goals in 193 games for Barcelona. For the Polish national team, he has scored 89 goals in 167 matches, making him the country's all-time leading scorer.
The MLS season will resume shortly after the World Cup final tournament, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico this summer. Lewandowski's arrival would be a major boost for the league.
