Lexus refreshes NX: more power, fast charging and new interior
Lexus has thoroughly updated its mid-size SUV NX for the 2027 model year, focusing on hybrid tech and digital cabin upgrades. In Europe, the refreshed model is due in spring 2027, with pre-orders starting in autumn 2026.
What has changed
Lexus has significantly revised its mid-size SUV NX for the 2027 model year. The company says the update covers both exterior design and technical details. The car gains a sportier look, a redesigned radiator grille, slimmer headlights and darker design accents. Inside, there is now a horizontal dashboard with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14-inch touchscreen.
Hybrid technology
The biggest changes are under the skin. The plug-in hybrid NX 450h+ now features a 23 kWh battery, and total output has risen from 292 to 307 horsepower. Electric range is now said to exceed 100 kilometres. For the first time, the model also offers DC fast charging, allowing the battery to be topped up from 10 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes. The updated NX 350h, meanwhile, gets optimized components and 199 horsepower. Both versions can tow a trailer weighing up to 1.5 tonnes.
Comfort and safety
Lexus has also expanded the range of comfort and safety features. The new “Sensory Concierge” system combines lighting, sound, climate, seat temperature and aroma in various cabin scenarios. The latest Lexus Connect platform promises faster navigation, voice control and broader app options. The Lexus Safety System + has also been enhanced.
Market timing
In Europe, the new NX is expected in spring 2027, with pre-orders planned for autumn 2026. The official price has not been announced yet; previously, the model cost €53,700 in Germany.
