Lidl Begins Territory Development Works in Torņakalns
Lidl Latvia has started demolition works on its 16,359 square meter property in Torņakalns, Riga, to prepare for future development.

Lidl Latvia has commenced development works in the Torņakalns area of Riga by demolishing nine outdated buildings. The company owns a 16,359 square meter plot of land that has been unused for an extended period, and the structures on it are technically and functionally obsolete.
Among the buildings being demolished are a former production hall (2,454.9 sqm), two administrative buildings (2,292.6 and 1,216.6 sqm), as well as warehouses and other auxiliary structures. Most buildings exceed 1,200 square meters. The demolition is being carried out by SIA "Grāvējs" in compliance with all applicable occupational safety, construction, and environmental protection requirements.
"This territory has not been used for a long time, and the buildings have served their time. Demolition will allow us to tidy up the property and prevent unauthorized entry," says Jānis Ivdris, Head of the Real Estate Department at Lidl Latvia. "Our goal is to ensure that the area is clean, transparent, and safe for both residents and the surrounding environment, so that we can develop here."
Lidl Latvia will provide separate information about future development plans for the site.
