Big Football Continues: After Domestic Virslīga Round, 'Riga' Plays in Conference League in Skopje
Following the conclusion of the World Cup, Latvian clubs remain active: the 23rd round of the Virslīga was played, and this week four Latvian teams begin their Conference League qualifying campaigns.
Although the World Cup has ended, this week promises to be eventful for Latvian football fans. Several Latvian clubs are still competing both in the domestic league and in European tournaments.
Before heading into international matches, the 23rd round of the Latvian top division, the Virslīga, took place. These games were played just ahead of the teams' European commitments.
This week, four Latvian clubs are playing their first matches of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League. Already this evening, 'Riga' will face 'Vardar' from North Macedonia in Skopje. On Thursday, the other three Latvian teams – RFS, 'Auda', and 'Liepāja' – will play their respective matches.
