Great Britain secure two more golds at European Aquatics Championships

Great Britain added two more gold medals to their tally at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris. In the women's synchronised 10m platform event, Maisie Bond and Lois Toulson claimed victory with a score of 300.06 points, finishing ahead of the German pair on 298.20 and the Ukrainian team in third with 286.20.

Toulson said that the duo came into the championships aiming to win and knowing it was achievable, having trained hard and looked promising. She described the result as a personal best and expressed pride in securing the gold medal.

In the artistic swimming mixed duet, Isabelle Thorpe and Ranjuo Tomblin narrowly captured their first European title in the discipline. Their winning score of 258.2383 points was just 0.2650 ahead of Spain, while Italy took bronze with 255.1641.

Thorpe, an Olympic silver medallist, described the achievement as incredible and was delighted to share it with Tomblin. She noted that their preparation had not been smooth due to an injury, but they managed to overcome it and finish on top. Tomblin, who had successfully defended his title in the men's solo technical event on Friday, said the mixed duet win felt even more special because it was alongside Izzy.

In the men's 1m springboard final, Jack Laugher earned silver with 418.25 points, and fellow Briton Jordan Houlden took bronze with 410.30. The gold went to Germany's Moritz Linus Wesemann, who posted a score of 431.45.
