UK Parliament building lit up in Ukrainian flag colours
The Palace of Westminster in London was illuminated in blue and yellow to mark Ukraine's Independence Day. Similar gestures were made in Canada and at EU institutions.

To mark Ukraine's Independence Day, the Palace of Westminster, home to the UK Parliament, was lit up in blue and yellow — the colours of the Ukrainian flag. The UK Parliament announced this on its X account, according to "Yevropeiska Pravda".
The illumination was described as a sign of support for the people of Ukraine on the occasion of the country's 35th anniversary of independence.
Similar gestures elsewhere
On the evening of 23 August, the building of the Canadian parliament and the office of Canada's prime minister were also lit up in Ukrainian colours to mark the anniversary. The buildings of the European Commission and the European Council were likewise illuminated in blue and yellow in honour of Independence Day.
