UK Prime Minister to Hand Over Stone Cloak Technology Rights to Ukraine

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham is set to host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday, July 27, and announce that the United Kingdom will transfer the intellectual property rights of the Stone Cloak electronic warfare system to Ukraine, according to The Independent.

The Stone Cloak device, roughly the size of a tablet, is designed to jam Russian drone detection systems. Thousands of units have already been supplied by the UK Ministry of Defence to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The technology, proven effective on the battlefield, will also be integrated into Britain's next-generation long-range strike weapons, including the Brakestop project—a low-cost cruise missile with a range of at least 600 km and a 200-300 kg warhead.

The two leaders are also expected to meet over 200 Ukrainian service personnel who have undergone training in the UK as part of the Sea Breeze exercises aimed at enhancing their combat skills. Burnham, who took office just a week ago, stated that the UK's support for Ukraine "remains unwavering."

Andy Burnham, the new leader of the UK Labour Party, officially succeeded Keir Starmer as prime minister on July 20. After King Charles accepted Starmer's resignation, Burnham traveled to Buckingham Palace, where the monarch invited him to form a new government. Zelenskyy congratulated Burnham on assuming office and announced that they had held their first telephone conversation, agreeing to meet in person soon.
