Lielvārde to mark start of new school year on September 1
On September 1, Lielvārde's Lāčplēša Square will host a free celebration marking the start of the new school year, featuring activities for the whole family.

The town of Lielvārde will celebrate the opening of the new school year on September 1 with a series of free public events at Lāčplēša Square.
The festivities begin at noon with a street food area offering various food options. Children can watch the animated film "Laimīgie" ("The Happy Ones") screened on a large outdoor screen twice during the day, at 1 p.m. and again at 5 p.m.
At 3 p.m., a performance titled "Hamoka komūna" will be staged for families with children. An hour later, at 4 p.m., the Lielvārde Sports Centre will offer its own set of activities for visitors.
The day will close with a concert by musician Gints Brants-Cālītis at 7 p.m.
Admission to all parts of the event is free of charge, and residents are invited to join the celebrations at Lāčplēša Square.
