"Lielvārde/Unihoc" claims first win of the season, defeating Valmiera
Floorball club "Lielvārde/Unihoc" beat "FBK Valmiera" 2:1 away, earning their first points of the season. Valmiera remain pointless in the standings.

Two winless floorball teams met at the Valmiera Olympic Centre: hosts "FBK Valmiera" and visitors "Lielvārde/Unihoc", neither of which had earned points so far this season. The visitors were more active in the opening period, though the score stayed level.
Goals traded in the second period
In the 34th minute, Edvards Gustavs Rašmanis put Lielvārde ahead with a precise shot. Valmiera responded quickly, equalizing just minutes later through Markuss Strazdiņš-Stradiņš, and the second period ended 1:1.
The final period turned into a tight battle dominated by both goalkeepers. The decisive moment came in the 55th minute, when the ball found its way into the home team's net again following a Lielvārde attack, making it 2:1. The goal was credited as an own goal, with Frīdrihs Feldmanis the most active player near the opposing net at the time.
Valmiera pushed hard for an equalizer in the remaining time, but their shots kept missing the target. The match ended 2:1 in favor of the visitors.
Goalkeepers shine
Both teams' goalkeepers put in strong performances. Lielvārde/Unihoc's Ēriks Zaics saved 13 of 14 shots faced, while Valmiera's Dāvids Daniels Kalniņš stopped 20 shots from the visitors. Valters Volkovs was named the best player on the winning side.
With the win, "Lielvārde/Unihoc" climbed to 7th place in the standings with three points, while "FBK Valmiera" remain pointless in 8th place.
