The Lielzalve Manor painting gallery has been expanded with ten works by artist Ligita Caune. Most of the paintings feature Sēlija landscapes, significant both to the region's history and the artist's own life.

Ligita Caune was born in Viesīte, where she graduated from high school. She is an honorary member of the Sēlija Association, founder and director of the society “Sēlijas palete”, and author of the altarpiece “Faith, Hope, Love” in Viesīte's Lutheran Church of Freedom. Some of the donated works were created during Sēlija art plein airs, in which the artist participated and organized.

The gallery's creation at the manor began several years ago with the first donation by artist Taiga Kalvišķe. Ilma Svilāne, head of the society “Sēļu klubs” which manages Lielzalve Manor, stated that the gallery currently holds around 20 works by various artists. It also includes donations and paintings from Ilma Svilāne's personal collection.

The gallery will continue to be expanded with thematic exhibitions. Currently, an exhibition titled “Sēlijas palete” is being prepared, dedicated to this historical region.
