For more than 30 years, the Liepāja Special Economic Zone (LSEZ) administration has partnered with artists to hold events continuing a long-standing tradition, and this year was no exception with the small artists' plein-air "Breath of the Sea." Works created during the event will be on display at the art salon "Ludviķis" from August 28 through October 10.

The exhibition hall will host a competition exhibition during which every visitor will have the chance to vote for the artwork they like best, according to LSEZ.

Artists invited from several cities

This summer, artist Aivars Kleins invited both Liepāja-based artists and participants of previous Liepāja plein-air events from other Latvian cities to take part in the small art plein-air.

According to Kleins, the project's goal is to revive a 25-year-old tradition of holding competition exhibitions dedicated to the sea theme among Liepāja artists, and to encourage creative activity.

The opening of the "Breath of the Sea" competition exhibition took place on August 28 at 16:00 in the exhibition hall of the art salon "Ludviķis," at Ludviķa iela 3/5, Liepāja.
