A new exhibition, “Without America,” has opened at the Exhibition Gallery of the Liepāja Latvian Society House, marking the most extensive display of diaspora Latvian art ever held in Latvia. The collection is drawn from the holdings of the World Latvian Art Center, but notably omits works by artists based in the United States.

The curators explain that this is a deliberate choice, intended to highlight the development of Latvian identity and creativity outside the United States. The exhibition invites visitors to view diaspora art from a different perspective, emphasizing that Latvian artistic expression has flourished in many countries beyond America.

The “Without America” exhibition is now on view at the Liepāja Latvian Society House.
