58 babies born in Liepāja in July – mostly girls
In July, 58 newborns arrived at the Maternity Department of Liepāja Regional Hospital – 32 girls and 26 boys. The hospital offers free single rooms to new mothers and gives a commemorative gift to parents.

Liepāja Regional Hospital recorded 58 births in the past month. Among the newborns are 26 boys and 32 girls, meaning girls outnumber boys.
The hospital has thanked parents for their trust and for allowing staff to be present at one of life's most important moments – the birth of a child. The personnel wishes that the babies grow up healthy and happy, and that families are filled with love and mutual support.
Gratitude has also been expressed to the maternity ward team for their professional and empathetic work. Every day, medical staff ensure the safety of mothers and newborns, providing necessary care and assistance.
To ensure a calm postpartum period, the hospital provides all new mothers with a free single room. This allows them to rest without disturbance, spend time with their baby, and enjoy the first shared days.
Additionally, parents receive a small souvenir – a set containing a soft sleep blanket in the shape of a bunny and a newborn card. This symbolic gift serves as the first keepsake of the child's birth and the special day in the family's life.
