Accommodation prices in Liepaja have quadrupled in summer compared to winter due to concerts, with tourists expressing shock and businesses citing market forces.

In Liepaja, ahead of the "Prāta Vētra" concert, accommodation prices have risen sharply. According to LSM's program "Discuss in the Evening," a hotel room that costs around 80 euros in winter now reaches several hundred euros during the festival season—prices have increased fourfold this year.

Tourists are shocked, with some calling it daylight robbery. However, business owners have a different perspective: they say it's nothing personal, just the laws of supply and demand. When demand for rooms spikes during major events, prices naturally go up.

Residents and visitors planning to attend concerts are advised to book accommodation early to avoid surprises. Liepaja is currently one of the most popular summer destinations in Latvia, and similar price dynamics are observed in other cities under comparable circumstances.
