Liepāja weekend to host canoe slalom championship
On Saturday and Sunday, 5 and 6 September, Liepāja’s canoe slalom championship will take place at Zvejnieku aleja 2/4. Clubs from across Latvia are set to compete, while city residents can take part free of charge.
This weekend, the city of Liepāja will hold its canoe slalom championship. The competition is scheduled for Saturday, 5 September, and Sunday, 6 September, at Zvejnieku aleja 2/4. The event is organised by the sports club "Atvars," with canoe slalom clubs from across Latvia expected to participate.
Entry for Liepāja residents is free. Organisers also invite supporters and anyone interested to watch the competition; on Saturday, they will be welcome at the "Olimpija" stadium in Liepāja.
Competition programme
Saturday, 5 September:
- 10:30 – opening of the competition;
- 11:00 – first run begins;
- 13:00 – second run begins;
- 15:00 – final runs begin;
- 16:30 – awards ceremony.
Sunday, 6 September:
- 11:00 – qualification runs;
- 13:30 – parallel runs;
- 16:00 – awards ceremony.
The championship is supported by the city of Liepāja.
