Liepāja Offers School Supply Benefit for Families with Children
From August 1 to September 30, families with children in Liepāja can apply for a 20-euro benefit per student in grades 2-12. The support targets large families, guardians, parents of children with disabilities, and low-income households.
The Liepāja municipality is inviting applications for a benefit aimed at easing the preparation for the new school year. The benefit amounts to 20 euros per child studying in grades 2 through 12. Applications are open from August 1 to September 30.
Eligible households must be registered in Liepāja and meet one of the following criteria:
- Families with at least three children;
- Families with a child with a disability;
- Guardians caring for children under a court decision;
- Households recognized as low-income between July 1 and September 30, 2026.
The benefit is granted for students who are under 21, attend full-time general education without interruption, and are not employed (except for summer employment through the State Employment Agency's student program).
Applications can be submitted electronically via the portal epakalpojumi.liepaja.lv (available from August 1) using an e-signature or internet banking, or in person at the Liepāja Social Service at Eduarda Veidenbauma Street 3, 1st floor. The benefit is paid within one month of application to the specified bank account.
