International youth camp “Baltic Guard 2026” starts in Liepāja

On Monday, July 20, the international youth camp “Baltic Guard 2026” kicks off in Liepāja, running through Friday, July 24. Participants include members of the Youth Guard movement and youth from Lithuanian and Estonian partner organizations.

The aim of the camp is to promote cross-border cooperation and experience exchange among young people. Participants will be divided into mixed teams, where they will test their skills in various activities and learn to collaborate.

The program includes shooting exercises at a polygon, an obstacle course challenge, and a laser tag game to demonstrate basic military skills and tactical knowledge. Excursions to Karosta Prison and Liepāja Coastal Artillery Battery No. 2 are also planned. Participants will present their countries and take part in team-building evenings.

The camp will conclude with a visit from the Latvian National Armed Forces, introducing participants to the army's capabilities, equipment, and daily life.

“Baltic Guard” is a traditional camp initiated by the Youth Guard Centre in 2012. Since then, it has been held annually on a rotational basis in one of the Baltic states, also gathering representatives from other partner organizations.
