Theatre festival "Theatre Close-Up" opens in Liepāja
This weekend, Liepāja hosts the theatre festival "Theatre Close-Up," featuring productions from several countries. Tickets for small-stage shows are already sold out.

This weekend, the center of Latvia's theatre scene shifts to Liepāja, where the festival "Theatre Close-Up" begins on the evening of August 20.
The festival offers audiences a chance to see productions from several foreign countries — performances that Latvian viewers would otherwise rarely have the opportunity to watch. For this reason, those interested are encouraged to plan their attendance promptly.
This applies especially to shows staged in smaller venues, where tickets have already sold out. Anyone hoping to catch at least part of the program is advised not to delay.
The festival gives residents of Liepāja and the rest of Latvia a chance to experience international theatre that usually remains outside the country's regular cultural offerings.
