Man damages building's drainpipe in Liepāja, police assess case

How the incident unfolded
Police received a report that a man in a blue denim jacket and black shorts, with no shoes on, was breaking a drainpipe on Tirgoņu Street. Arriving at the scene, officers met a man matching the description. At first he denied any connection to the incident, but later he pointed to the pipe he had broken himself and cooperated with the officers.
What happens next
A few days after the incident, police received a complaint about damage to property. The materials are currently being assessed in the manner set out in the Criminal Procedure Law.
A video recording of the incident is also helping to establish the circumstances. The State Police urge residents who witness violations of the law to inform the police. If people have similar materials, such as video footage, or other useful information, they should pass it to the State Police.
