Liepāja boxers win three medals at international tournament

At the international boxing tournament "Olaines Cup 2026," athletes from the Liepāja Comprehensive Sports School won two silver medals and one bronze.

From September 18 to 20, the international boxing tournament "Olaines Cup 2026" took place in Olaine, bringing together boxers from ten countries. The news was shared by Simona Laiveniece, press representative of the Liepāja Comprehensive Sports School.

Liepāja was represented at the tournament by three athletes under the guidance of coach Kaspars Pīrāgs, and all three returned home with medals. Second place went to Anna Luīze Šuļska of CF-Liepāja, as well as to Milans Proņins of the Liepāja Comprehensive Sports School. Third place was secured by Mihaels Kiričeks, who also represents the Liepāja Comprehensive Sports School.

Preparing for major international competitions

Coach Raitis Mičulis said that Liepāja's athletes continue to train purposefully ahead of the upcoming European and World Championships. He also announced that on October 10, Liepāja will host this season's first Open Ring — a local boxing event.
