Liepāja wrestlers top team standings at Latvia's open beach wrestling championship
Latvia's open beach wrestling championship was held in Saldus, where the Liepāja Complex Sports School won first place in the team standings among seventeen teams from three countries. Several Liepāja athletes also claimed individual medals across various age groups.

On August 22, Saldus hosted Latvia's open beach wrestling championship, bringing together seventeen teams from Latvia, Estonia and Ukraine. In the team standings, the Liepāja Complex Sports School took first place, according to the school's press representative Simona Laiveniece.
Coach Jānis Rērihs reported that in the adult competition, four Liepāja athletes became champions in their weight categories: Germans Petrovs (80 kg), Olivers Irklis (90 kg), Madara Kalniņa (60 kg) and Viktorija Irkle (over 60 kg).
Success in the younger age groups
In the U15 age group, Maksims Petravičs (35 kg) and Arina Matvejeva (55 kg) became champions. Second place went to Leo Bikovs (40 kg) and Alina Babahina (55 kg), while Ņikita Hmeļovs (60 kg) took third.
In the even younger U11 age group, three athletes claimed the top spot: Vasīlijs Petravičs (25 kg), Donatas Mozgiris (30 kg) and Arsenijs Alaļins (45 kg). Second place was taken by Jegors Mordvinovs (25 kg) and Marks Milieška (30 kg), while third-place finishers included Marks Žilinskis (25 kg), Rojs Tupesis (35 kg) and Bogdans Dobreņkijs (45 kg).
Overall, the results show a broad presence of Liepāja's beach wrestling school across all age groups, with strong performances in both adult and youth competition.
