"Summer Sound" opens on Liepāja beach with music and dancing

On Friday, 31 July, the first day of the Summer Sound festival took place on Liepāja beach. Several stages hosted both internationally recognised artists and local musicians. Thousands of visitors enjoyed concerts, danced and soaked up the summer atmosphere until late in the night. The programme offered a wide musical range, from electronic music to punk rock and hip-hop.
The highlight of the evening was a show by Norwegian DJ and producer Alan Walker. Throughout the day, the audience was entertained by Latvian performers, including rapper ansis, the band Singapūras Satīns, rapper Arturs Skutelis, the act Revolūcija un Dziedātāja, Žoržs Siksna, and Ozols together with Very Cool People. American punk rock group Gogol Bordello also performed among the international acts. This gave festival-goers a chance to hear both well-known foreign artists and Latvian musicians.
Photographer Juris Lisovs captured the festival’s first-day moments, and the photos were published on Delfi. Visitors can look through the pictures and try to spot themselves or their friends in the crowd.
