Liepāja Regional Hospital hosts Vidzeme Hospital staff for experience exchange
On September 11, a team from Vidzeme Hospital's HR department visited Liepāja Regional Hospital to exchange experience on personnel management and workplace organization. Both hospitals noted the visit was valuable since they operate in similar conditions and face comparable challenges.

On September 11, Liepāja Regional Hospital hosted a study visit from the Human Resources team of Vidzeme Hospital. The purpose of the visit was for the visiting team to learn about Liepāja's hospital operations and discuss issues relevant to both institutions.
Topics discussed
During the meeting, staff from both hospitals covered personnel management, occupational safety, employee wellbeing, and legal matters. Particular attention was given to practical issues such as the use of the Horizon and HOP systems, organizing mandatory health checks, implementing and evaluating employee wellbeing initiatives, and assessing environmental risks.
A mutually valuable exchange
Vēsma Silkalne, head of Liepāja Regional Hospital's Personnel Management Department, explained that such meetings are valuable because they allow both sides to share achievements as well as challenges encountered in daily work. She noted that both hospitals operate at the same level of care, which means they face similar problems, making the exchange particularly useful.
Liepāja's staff, in turn, had the opportunity to learn how Vidzeme Hospital approaches similar issues, including occupational safety, mandatory health checks, employee wellbeing, and the use of digital solutions.
Both institutions emphasized that such visits not only allow them to showcase what has already been achieved, but also offer a chance to view everyday work processes from a different perspective and adopt ideas that could benefit both hospitals going forward.
