Liepāja Theatre's "Father Silence" explores accepting mistakes before time runs out

Liepāja Theatre has added a production titled "Father Silence" ("Tēvs klusums") to its repertoire. Playwright Rasa Bugavičute-Pēce has spoken about the idea and message behind the piece.
According to Bugavičute-Pēce, one of the central messages she wanted to convey through the play is that making a mistake is something entirely normal and human, not extraordinary or unforgivable. She emphasizes that a person never has to remain alone with their inner feelings — there is always a way to seek support or find a path forward instead of carrying that weight in isolation.
A call to act in time
The playwright encourages audiences not to postpone the search for answers to important questions. In her view, it is sometimes worth taking a concrete step and doing something meaningful in order to reach those answers while it is still possible. Bugavičute-Pēce notes that time is unforgiving and will not wait for someone to become ready to act.
This reflection, she says, is what she most wanted audiences to take away from "Father Silence," now showing at Liepāja Theatre.
