On the evening of July 8, residents of Karosta were alarmed by a loud noise; it turned out to be a broken blade from a wind turbine at the Rapsoil wind park during testing. No injuries were reported.

On the evening of Wednesday, July 8, residents of Karosta were startled by a loud sound resembling thunder. Despite strong winds, the cause was not natural – it came from the Rapsoil wind park, where a turbine blade broke off and fell during equipment testing.
The turbine is located on the outskirts of the city and had not yet been put into operation. No one was injured in the incident, according to TV Kurzeme.
