Lithuania proposes special test for Russian and Belarusian artists and academics

Lithuania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has put forward a proposal to introduce a special screening process for Russian and Belarusian artists, academics, and athletes seeking entry into the country. Under the plan, individuals who fail to meet the criteria would be banned from entering.

The proposal specifically targets those who have performed in occupied Ukrainian territories or expressed support for Russia's aggression. The ministry argues that such measures are necessary to prevent individuals who legitimize the war from gaining access to Lithuania.
