A powerful storm swept across Lithuania on Saturday evening and into the night toward Sunday, causing widespread disruptions to the electricity network. According to state grid operator ESO, more than 93,000 consumers were still without power several days after the storm hit.

Repair work continues

ESO says repair crews are working intensively to fix damaged power lines and equipment across the country. The company expects that electricity supply in the districts hit hardest by the storm will be fully restored by Saturday.

The storm caused significant damage to grid infrastructure, and the scale of the disruption suggests restoration efforts will continue for several more days. The source information does not specify which districts were most severely affected, but ESO stresses that repair work is being coordinated to restore power to residents as quickly as possible.

The company says it will continue monitoring the situation and will provide further updates on restoration progress in the coming days.
