From June 16 to 26, the strategically important area near the Suwałki Gap will host the international military exercise "Gallant Boar 2026." Lithuanian soldiers will train alongside troops from the Polish and French armed forces, according to European Pravda, citing Lrytas.
The main objective of the exercise is to conduct joint military operations and coordinate actions among allied forces. Significant attention will be paid to increasing combat readiness and improving skills necessary for the rapid and effective defense of this geographically crucial stretch.
This is not the only allied activity in the region. On June 10, it became known that the new German tank brigade in Lithuania is conducting its first combat drills in this Baltic country. At the end of May, it was reported that Italy is sending about 100 soldiers and several fighter jets to Romania as part of a mission aimed at training Romanian troops to counter threats from Russia.
