Lithuanian agricultural companies are increasingly turning to foreign workers to address persistent labor shortages. The Lithuanian Vegetable Growers Association reports that nearly all farms face difficulties in finding employees, particularly for short-term positions. This has led to a rise in the use of foreign labor recruitment agencies.

Farmers predict that this trend will continue for several more years. The association emphasizes that the shortage of local workers has become a serious challenge, especially during peak seasons. As a result, many farms now rely on agencies to quickly bring in workers from abroad. The association noted that without foreign labor, many agricultural operations would struggle to maintain production levels. The reliance on foreign workers is expected to remain a key feature of the sector in the near future.
