Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė has congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his recent parliamentary election victory. On the social media platform X, she expressed hope that the outcome would bring Armenia closer to the European Union, emphasizing that the Armenian people have once again voiced support for democratic values, regional stability, and a European future.
Pashinyan's ruling Civil Contract party secured 49.8% of the vote, far ahead of the opposition Strong Armenia alliance, backed by Russian-Armenian billionaire Samvel Karapetyan, which received 23.3%. Following the results, Pashinyan stated that he would maintain a pro-European course while managing relations with Russia, which has grown increasingly uneasy about Armenia's westward shift.
