This weekend, Lithuania will host the ''Elektrenai'' rally, the fifth round of the Lithuanian national rally championship. A total of 71 crews are expected to take part.

Of these, 11 crews will compete in the LARC2 class, driving powerful Rally2 or R5 cars. Since this year's Cēsis rally in Latvia will not take place, several leading Latvian crews have decided to enter this Lithuanian round instead.

In the LARC6 class, Ralfs Sirmacis, Guntis Lielkājis and Kārlis Folkmanis have competed in previous rounds. They will now be joined at this stage by Jānis Vorobjovs, Mārtiņš Ķikusts, Emīls Blūms and Mārtiņš Ločmelis.

After four rounds, the class standings are led convincingly by Ralfs Sirmacis and co-driver Māris Kulšs, who have won all four rounds so far. Second place belongs to Guntis Lielkājis and Zane Lielkāja-Gerika.

In the 2WD class, 31 crews will start, including several Latvian drivers — Martins Jēkabsons, Kārlis Dzenītis, Kristaps Laipnieks, Reinis Trūps, Ēriks Kursišs and Gints Bremze.

On Saturday, competitors will face a total of nine special stages covering 100 kilometers.
