Extra Public Transport Trips on Līgo Night in Rīga; Free Rides on June 23-24
From June 22 to 24, Rīga's public transport will run on a weekend schedule, and on June 23-24 travel will be free. Additional night trips are planned for Līgo night, and parking regulations will also change.
Rīgas Satiksme has announced changes to public transport and parking during the Midsummer holidays. From June 22 to 24, buses, trolleybuses, and trams will operate on a holiday schedule. On June 23 and 24, passengers can ride for free.
On Līgo night (the night of June 23), additional trips will be provided to serve events at Mežaparka Zaļais Teātris, Grīziņkalns, and Dzegužkalns. Extra services will run on bus routes 2, 11, 12, 23, 26, 18, 25, 48, 50, and 51, as well as on trolleybus route 14. For night routes, extra trips are scheduled on N1, N4, N6, N10 from the city center at 0:30, 1:30, 2:30, 3:30; on N2 at 4:40 from Vecmīlgrāvis; on N3 from the center at 0:40, 2:00, 3:20, 4:40, and from Daugavgrīva at 1:20, 2:40, 4:00. On night route N7, buses heading to the center will stop at the 15th trolleybus stop "Latvijas Universitāte".
Parking regulations will also change. On June 23 and 24, parking lots managed by Rīgas Satiksme will be free of charge, except for the underground parking at Krišjāņa Valdemāra iela 5A, where standard fees apply. On June 22 and 27, which are shifted working days, parking lots will operate on a Saturday schedule: zones A, B, C, D from 9:00 to 17:00, zone R from 6:00 to 24:00, zone V from 8:00 to 20:00.
