LinkedIn adds 'Seems like AI slop' button
LinkedIn introduces a new button allowing users to flag posts that appear to be AI-generated, as part of efforts to reduce AI slop on the platform.

LinkedIn has added a button to its three-dot menu that lets users report posts as "Seems like AI slop." The move is part of a broader initiative to cut down on low-quality, AI-generated content on the professional network.
When a user clicks the button, LinkedIn hides the post and displays a thank-you message. According to chief product officer Hari Srinivasan, the feature will help LinkedIn "tune our models and make better feeds." The company is also testing a way to show users that others perceive their posts as inauthentic or heavily AI-assisted.
In addition, LinkedIn is removing a feature that previously used AI to "enhance" posts and replacing it with a proofreading tool that checks spelling but does not alter the user's voice.
AI detection firm Pangram found that 41% of longform LinkedIn posts were flagged as completely AI-generated, as reported by 404Media. Srinivasan stated that reducing AI slop is a top priority for the company, and new classifiers are being deployed to identify low-quality content in suggestions and outside-network feeds.
