Northamptonshire Steelbacks are the only side this T20 Blast season with nine wins and 36 points, having lost just once. Despite a heavy defeat to Somerset on Sunday, they returned to winning ways and booked their quarter-final place.

In Cardiff, Chris Lynn's century and quick 25s from Ricardo Vasconcelos and Saif Zaib powered the visitors to 217/7. Glamorgan's reply saw captain Kiran Carlson make 42, but after his dismissal, Northants tightened the screws, bowling out the hosts for 164. Calvin Harrison took 3/20, while Zaib (2/27) and James Sales (2/21) also contributed.

Somerset, keeping hope of retaining their title, posted 214/6 with Will Smeed's 89. Martin Andersson took 3/33. Derbyshire, bottom of the North Group, fell short on 187/7. Aneurin Donald's 65 off 27 balls raised hopes, but Harry Came's dismissal stalled their chase.

Surrey have all but qualified for the quarter-finals, thanks to Jason Roy's 103 off 58 balls, which helped them chase down 177. Josh Philippe added 31 and Dan Lawrence 28. Sussex managed 176/7 despite George Thomas's 57 and James Coles's 42. Chris Jordan (2/23) and Tom Lawes (2/29) restricted them.

Middlesex, knowing they had to win to stay alive, beat group leaders Hampshire. Tight bowling from Zafar Gohar (1/21) and Luke Hollman (1/14) limited Hampshire to 159/4. Max Holden made 62 in reply, and Ben Geddes (44*) saw them home.
