Athletes continue strong results

At the European Aquatics Championships, Romanian swimmer David Popovici claimed his second sprint gold of the competition, winning the 200m freestyle after already taking the 100m title earlier in the week. French swimmer Léon Marchand also impressed, posting the fastest time in the 200m butterfly final at the same event.

At the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, Switzerland's Audrey Werro defeated home favourite Keely Hodgkinson in the 800m final to secure her first European title. During the evening session, Italy's Gianmarco Tamberi won his fourth European high jump gold, while Norway's Karsten Warholm successfully defended his 400m hurdles title for a third consecutive time.
