Chelsea ready to sell 11 players and earn around £500m
Chelsea have made eight signings under new head coach Xavi Alonso, but could offload up to 11 players before the transfer window closes. The club expects to raise close to £500 million from sales.

London club Chelsea are undergoing a major squad overhaul this summer. Under new head coach Xavi Alonso, the team have already brought in eight players, with Morgan Rodgers the most expensive signing at £117 million. Other arrivals include Maxence Lacroix, Danny Welbeck, Jordan Henderson, Valentin Barco, Giovanni Quenda, Marco Palestra and Emmanuel Emega.
The heavy transfer activity has significantly expanded the first-team squad. It also signals a shift in the club's recruitment approach. Chelsea previously focused mainly on young talents, but the additions of experienced players like Welbeck and Henderson suggest Alonso wants a better mix of youth and experience.
However, the new signings mean space must be freed up in the squad. According to The Athletic, as many as 11 players could complete permanent moves before the deadline. If all the planned deals go through, Chelsea could generate close to £500 million in player sales.
After a disappointing previous season in which they finished 10th in the Premier League, the club's leadership hopes the major rebuild will help them challenge for top positions again. The coming weeks are expected to be busy, as Chelsea aim not only to finalise their squad but also to significantly reduce the number of players on the books.
