The opposition party "Latvia First" (LPV) has submitted a draft resolution expressing no confidence in Transport Minister Rihards Kozlovskis of the "New Unity" party.

Accusations against the minister

LPV claims that Kozlovskis has failed to ensure proper management of two institutions important to the transport sector — the Road Traffic Safety Directorate (CSDD) and the national airline airBaltic. The party states that shortcomings in the leadership of these organizations form the basis for its demand that the minister step down.

What happens next

The no-confidence draft resolution has been submitted, but how it will proceed and be reviewed remains unclear for now. The minister's fate will depend on further political developments and the positions taken by other parties.
