Latvia's public broadcasting portal LSM.lv has launched a new dedicated section on its website covering the upcoming 15th Saeima elections. The vote is scheduled for October 3, with less than a month remaining before election day.

What the new section offers

The section brings together in one place material intended to help voters make an informed choice. It includes analysis of the competing political parties, information about registered candidates, and an overview of the parties' election programmes.

The section will also feature reflections from Latvian residents on what kind of country they would like to see over the next four years — the term of the incoming Saeima.

Aim: a better-informed electorate

LSM.lv describes the initiative as a way to help residents prepare for the upcoming vote by consolidating election-related content in a single place rather than scattering it across separate articles. The goal is to make it easier for voters to compare what different parties are offering and to make a considered decision at the polling station.

With the launch of this election-focused coverage, LSM.lv marks the start of an intensified reporting effort that will continue through election day on October 3.
