Latvia's public broadcaster LSM aired a live discussion on August 12 examining the pre-election pledges made by political parties ahead of the upcoming 15th Saeima elections.

The program brought together representatives from seven political parties and alliances. Edgars Tavars represented the "Apvienotais saraksts" (United List), while Jūlija Stepaņenko took part on behalf of the "Suverēnā vara/Apvienība Jaunlatvieši" alliance. Ainārs Šlesers represented the "Latvija pirmajā vietā" (Latvia First) party, and Andris Šuvajevs spoke for the "Progresīvie" (The Progressives).

Also participating were Artūrs Butāns of the National Alliance, Arvils Ašeradens of "Jaunā Vienotība" (New Unity), and Viktors Valainis of the Union of Greens and Farmers.

Format of the discussion

The broadcast was structured as a debate among leaders of the various political forces, with each representative outlining their party's stance and plans for the upcoming vote. The discussion was streamed live on the LSM platform.

The program forms part of LSM's broader election-season coverage, which examines the campaign promises of different political parties and their prospects for implementation ahead of the 15th Saeima elections.
