The University of Latvia (LU) basketball team is continuing to strengthen its roster ahead of the new season, adding American player Tomass, known for his three-point shooting accuracy.

Experience at NCAA and NAIA levels

Over the past two seasons, the player represented the University of North Dakota's "Fighting Hawks" team, which competes in NCAA Division I. Before that, he played at a lower level in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Statistics point to three-point accuracy

Last season, Tomass appeared in 32 games, averaging 14 minutes on the court. During that time, he averaged 4.4 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. His three-point shooting stood out in particular, with a 39% success rate last season. In his best season, he averaged 5.8 three-point attempts per game, converting 42.2% of them.

First test ahead

The newly assembled LU roster faces its first major test next week, on September 23, when the team will play VEF Rīga in the Latvian-Estonian basketball league.
