Lux Express extends Klaipėda route beyond summer season, until October 25

Bus operator Lux Express will keep running its seasonal service to Klaipėda and Palanga beyond the summer season, extending the route until October 25. The company says the decision follows passenger demand that exceeded its original expectations.

Aldis Ķibēns, a board member of Lux Express Latvia, said the company has observed people increasingly choosing public transport not only for summer holidays but also for short autumn trips and weekend getaways. He added that reliable, quality bus connections can encourage travel outside the traditional tourist season.

Schedule changes

Starting August 31, the route will operate once a day in each direction, every day, maintaining the connection between Riga, Liepāja, Klaipėda and Palanga through the autumn. From Monday to Saturday, buses will depart Riga bus station at 7:00 and Liepāja bus station at 10:30. On Sundays, departures shift later, at 11:30 from Riga and 15:00 from Liepāja. Return buses from Klaipėda bus station will depart at 12:55 from Monday to Saturday, and at 17:10 on Sundays.

Lux Express resumed its seasonal Klaipėda service at the beginning of April this year. The trip between Riga and Klaipėda takes about 5 hours and 10 minutes, while the Liepāja–Klaipėda leg takes roughly 1 hour 40 minutes.

Lux Express Group is an international bus operator providing long-distance service to major Baltic cities and Warsaw, as well as domestic transport within Latvia and Estonia. Its fleet consists of 105 buses.
