LVC warns of bitumen seeping on roads during heatwave
With temperatures expected to exceed +30°C in the coming days, Latvijas Valsts ceļi advises drivers that sticky bitumen spots may appear on old asphalt surfaces.

Latvijas Valsts ceļi (LVC) has issued a warning that during the upcoming hot weather, when air temperatures rise above +30 degrees Celsius, road asphalt will heat up significantly. On sections with old asphalt in poor technical condition, as well as in areas where potholes have been repaired, bitumen may seep out, forming sticky spots on the road surface.
LVC urges drivers to exercise caution, as these conditions can make roads slippery. It recommends reducing speed and avoiding sudden maneuvers. While specific locations are not mentioned, the warning applies across Latvia, particularly on roads with aging pavement.
