Serviceman detonates grenade during dispute with passersby in Lviv region, four injured

A dangerous incident occurred on September 26 in the Sheptytskyi district of Ukraine's Lviv region, leaving four people injured. According to police in the Lviv region, the explosion took place on Taras Shevchenko Avenue.
Police say a 36-year-old local resident — a serviceman currently on leave — detonated a grenade during a conflict with passersby. Three women aged 17, 18 and 56, along with a 26-year-old man, sustained shrapnel wounds in the blast.
All four victims were taken to hospital, and doctors have said there is no threat to their lives.
Detention and charges
The suspect has been detained by police. Investigators have opened a criminal case on hooliganism charges under the relevant part of Ukraine's Criminal Code, which carries a penalty of three to seven years in prison.
